What it is about
Hans and Sophie Scholl were in their early twenties when they began distributing leaflets against the Nazi regime. Die Weiße Rose tells their story not as a monument but from the inside: as the story of young people growing up, falling in love, doubting and deciding all the same.
The piece treats courage and responsibility as something that has to be learned. That is precisely why it works so well with young audiences.
